A multipurpose center with 80,415 square feet of recreation space including a 500-seat natatorium with a 50-meter indoor pool, 10 competitive scored and timed lanes, a three-meter diving board, two one-meter diving boards, and a 14-foot diving well; 200 seat gymnasium with full basketball court with volleyball capabilities, indoor walking/jogging track, stage. The center also features therapeutic and mature adult recreation areas, seven multipurpose rooms, a 100-person meeting room, two full-scale demonstration kitchens, and a 14,000 square foot covered outdoor area for basketball and special events.
Fans of the blue, silver and grey baseball help fill the 2500-capacity of Bud Metheny. Old Dominion's natural grass playing field hosts games of the Colonial Athletic Conference.
Seating 2,500 in the orchestra, dress circle, and balcony, Chrysler Hall is well suited to a multitude of events. Its main lobby and two-level grand hall can easily accommodate bistro tables as well as buffet serving tables for a complete evening of patron entertaining.
The 18 hole "Cypress Point" course at the Cypress Point Country Club facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia features 6,612 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par 72. The course rating is 71.5 and it has a slope rating of 124. Designed by Thomas E. Clark, ASGCA, the Cypress Point golf course opened in 1957. Hampton Roads Golf Clubs manages the facility, with Mike Fentress as the Director of Golf.
This 50,000 square foot facility, currently under construction, will feature two gymnasiums, a dance room, multi-purpose rooms and a concession/cafe area. Opening in 2012.
With a seating capacity of 30,000, this first-class football facility at Norfolk State University includes an 8-lane polyurethane track, computerized timers, and facilities that allow all field events to be held within the stadium. Norfolk State University also has a baseball stadium, tennis complex and softball fields.
This facility is located on the campus of Old Dominion University. There is over 74,000 square feet and includes 8 indoor courts with the same surface as the courts at the US open. The center offers men's and women's locker rooms, team break rooms, a concession area on the mezzanine level and over 6,000 square feet spectator viewing. The Center also includes 12 outdoor courts.
The Hampton Roads Soccer Complex is located in Virginia Beach on 75 acres. The land was privately developed into 19 quality soccer fields, consisting of 5 small-sided fields, 3 junior fields, and 11 full size fields, with Tifway Bermuda grass. The 2,500 square foot brick Headquarters Building provides restrooms, concessions, meeting rooms and first aid trainer's room, along with staff offices. The building is flanked by two 30x44 foot picnic pavilions which serve as a tournament and event activity center.
