HAMPTON, NEWPORT NEWS, POQUOSON, WILLIAMSBURG, GLOUCESTER, JAMES CITY & YORK COUNTIES, VIRGINIA – November 20, 2011 - The Volunteer Center of the Virginia Peninsula in partnership with Newport News Parks and Recreation is preparing for the 1st Annual Walk in the Park, – a family fun, fitness, and fundraiser event. This one-night-only opportunity to walk through the Celebration in Lights is open to anyone wishing to participate. The Walk is also an opportunity for area nonprofit agencies, school groups, and other nonprofits to benefit from funds being raised through this event.
