Local college hoops dinner slated for Wednesday

The Hampton Roads Sports Commission will host a Celebration of College Athletics Awards Dinner on Wednesday at the Newport News Marriott.
The dinner is held annually to recognize the college football and men's and women's basketball programs of The Apprentice School, Christopher Newport, William and Mary, Hampton, Norfolk State, Old Dominion and Virginian Wesleyan.
The keynote speaker is author and former Virginian-Pilot sportswriter Jim Ducibella.
