PORTSMOUTH, VA – The Virginia Sports Hall of Fame & Museum is hosting a Three-Point Shooting Contest on Saturday, March 22 at 11 a.m. A single-elimination bracket of 64 for boys and girls ages 13 and up will be arranged and the winners in each bracket will receive a cash prize of $100 with second place receiving $50. The entry fee is only $5 and will include admission into the Museum. Participants will also have the opportunity to watch college basketball games in the Cox Digital Theater.
How the Contest Works:
The Three-Point Contest will have three racks of five basketballs each and the goal is to make as many three-point shots as possible in a 30-second time frame. Individuals will go head-to-head against one another, and the one with the most baskets will move on to the next round. In the event of a tie, individuals will shoot from one rack in ten seconds until a winner is determined. At the end of the contest, a winner from each bracket will be crowned.
Pre-registration Preferred
Because the brackets of 64 could fill up, it is recommended that those wanting to participate pre-register. Individuals can pre-register by emailing events@vshfm.com or by calling (757) 393-8031.
