The Tidewater Striders, a non-profit running club with 1,700 members, awarded nine scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 to nine local students:

Kellam's Abby Motley (Virginia Tech); Cox's Julie Stern (James Madison); Western Branch's Nicholas Richardson (Virginia) and Sarah Semp (Washington and Lee); Princess Anne's Elizabeth Cornell (Tennessee), Matthew Schwartzer (Indiana), Kevin O'Sullivan (Marist), and Alexandra Yerkes (Sweet Briar); Tallwood's Zackary Fanelty (Georgia Tech).
