In June, the Hampton Roads Sports Commission was announced as a finalist to host the 2017 State Games of America (SGA) by the National Congress of State Games.  The SGA is an Olympic-style sporting event featuring athletes from across the nation. The SGA features 20 - 30 sports and brings in approximately 20,000 attendees for a six day period in the summer, generating an estimated $10,000,000 in economic impact.
