Victoria Olivarez of Virginia Beach won in straight sets Monday to reach the round of 64 in the USTA Girls' 16 National Clay Court Championships at the Virginia Beach Tennis and Country Club.

Olivarez, who reached the Group AAA state singles final in June as a First Colonial sophomore, topped McKenzie Barco of Jacksonville, Fla., 7-5, 6-3.

The tournament continues through this weekend. The quarterfinals are Friday, followed by the semifinals Saturday and the finals Sunday.
