Orioles recall Tides third baseman

Danny Valencia is making a trip to the majors
Norfolk, VA - The Orioles today announced that they have recalled third baseman Danny Valencia from Norfolk.
Valencia, 28, is batting .306 with 14 doubles, 11 home runs and 35 RBI in 40 games for the Tides this season, including seven home runs in his last ten games and a line of .324 with six home runs in 37 at-bats against left-handed pitching. He has hit .316 in 326 plate appearances against southpaws in his major league career.
Valencia batted .311 in 85 games with the Twins in 2010, finishing third in the American League Rookie of the Year balloting. In three seasons with Minnesota (2010-12) and Boston (2012), he has batted .257 with 25 home runs and 133 RBI in 283 games.
