NORFOLK, Va. (Nov. 25, 2020) – SportsTalk 757, the new web series presented by the Hampton Roads Sports Commission, recently completed its eighth episode of bringing notable sports personalities and discourse to the Hampton Roads community and beyond.
Over the past three months, local sports figures from the ranks of the media, high school administration, college coaches and professionals have weighed in on a number of topics central to the sports world in today’s society. Among the highlights so far:
- Area college coaches Mike London (William & Mary football), Ricky Rahne (ODU football) and Robert Jones (Norfolk State basketball) explained not only how they are guiding their programs during a pandemic, but how they teach their young student-athletes about issues related to social justice.
- Former NFL football player Don Carey and current NBA referee Tony Brothers discussed how they are using their platforms to give back to the Hampton Roads youth through their non-profit organizations.
- Hall of Fame sportscaster Bruce Rader and Norfolk Tides general manager Joe Gregory offered their opinions on the future of sports in Hampton Roads.
- High school athletic directors Kevin Cole, David Rhodes and Stephen Suttmiller shined a light on the challenges amateur athletes are facing during today’s uncertain climate.
