The 2016 Hampton Roads Hero Games are Here

The event is finally here! The 2016 Hampton Roads Hero Games started this Wednesday, October 5 with the Firefighter Challenge at the Virginia Beach Fire Training Center. The firefighters raced against the clock through a fun and challenging course while supporters cheered them on! Volleyball soon followed at River Crest Community Center in Chesapeake where teams battled for the cup in epic, competitive games! On Thursday, October 6, Golf and CrossFit take the stage as the Hero Games’ main sporting events. Ocean View Golf Course in Norfolk is hosting the golf tournament, where foursome teams can enjoy the outdoors and ocean air from the nearby bay. Players will be able to bid on a huge selection of items in the silent auction, buy raffle tickets for prizes and relax at the post-tournament BBQ! CrossFit, starting at 5:30pm, will be held at Compound CrossFit in Chesapeake. Movements in this event include burpees, slam balls, squats, and more! The Hero Games event concludes Friday, October 7 with the Pistol Challenge. C2 Shooting Center will be hosting this sporting event in Virginia Beach as participants undergo an intense competition for the gold! There will be t-shirts for sale throughout the week and an awards ceremony at the end of each event.
