Local Rock Band “Seven Ten Oil” to Perform During Tournament

NORFOLK, VA – Next week the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce and the Hampton Roads Sports Commission will host an inaugural Sand Kickball Tournament.  The event will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012 at the Ocean View Fishing Pier (400 West Ocean View Ave., Norfolk).  Registration begins at 2pm, with play starting at 2:45pm. This unique recreational kickball tournament will be played on the beach and will be the first ever of its kind in the region.

More than 150 players on 13 teams from non-profit organizations, small, mid-size and large corporations will compete in a high energy, double elimination sand kickball tournament. The event will conclude with an awards presentation and networking on the upper deck of the Ocean View Fishing Pier.

There will also be a snack and cash bar, as well as live entertainment.  Local rock band, Seven Ten Oil, will play during the tournament.  The band, which formed in 1997, has opened for KISS and Motley Crüe at the Virginia Beach Amphitheater in July 2012.  In 2008 and 2009, the band was nominated in Portfolio Weekly’s Hampton Roads Music Awards for Best Local Metal/Hard Rock Band and Best Live Performance.  Seven Ten Oil will play a mix of cover songs and original music during the competition.
