Sports News in Hampton Roads

Let's support those who protect us on a daily basis here in Hampton Roads! The Hero Games were created as a celebration of first responders in our area, and also to stir up some friendly competition between departments. The games will consist of eight sports over four days in Chesapeake, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach.

Something unique about this event is that 25% of sponsorship dollars goes toward entry fees for the first responders of your choice. Also, a portion of the overall proceeds will go to first responder charities! Be a partner of this event and make your company look like Heroes!

Ladies' Day to Play Golf Tournament 2016
The second-annual Ladies' Day to Play is at Honey Bee Golf Course in Virginia Beach on October 14! Grab your girlfriends and start your weekend early by signing up today for a fun and competitive day of golf! Join other ladies from the business community and market your company on a beautiful course!

CHKD Coaching Series

CHKD is offering a FREE 3-part Sports Performance Academy Coaches Clinic Series! The next event is on Wednesday, September 28. The series will provide coaches an opportunity to learn how to train their athletes to excel in sports.

Dates: Aug. 6-7; Sept. 10-11; Sept. 24-25; Oct. 8-9
Cost: $20 per player
Divisions: Open, A, and BB
Format: Doubles start at 8:30am; Fours start at 2:00pm

Facility Spotlight:

The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium is an amazing "aerial forest park" in Virginia Beach - the first of its kind in Virginia!

Within the trees are 15 Trails, 21 zip lines, 6 difficulty levels, and almost 200 challenge bridges!
It is the largest forest climbing park in the nation.
The park is designed to keep the trees and forest healthy. It's tree-friendly!
Climbers over the age of five are welcome.

Come out for the Summer Glow in the Park Series every Tuesday and Thursday in July and August!
