The Hampton Roads Sports Commission presented this first ever event that provided invaluable information to college-bound student-athletes and their families. Attendees learned about the recruiting & eligibility requirements for college athletics. Sessions were run by local Division I, II & III institutions and the NCAA.

This was the second year of an annual event that recognizes and celebrates the Apprentice School, Christopher Newport University, Hampton University, Norfolk State University, Old Dominion University, Virginia Weslyan University and William & Mary athletic seasons.  This year's event will recognized the top seasons, athletes and coaches in Football, Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball by announcing the Hampton Roads Sports Commission Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year in each sport.

This is the second year for this fun, action-packed event that pairs teams from non-profit organizations, small, mid-size and large corporations alike in a high energy, sand kicking, double elimination kickball tournament. An afternoon of team-building, Teams compete for the highly coveted, Grand Sand Kickers’ Cup.
